ABOUT OUR COMPANY

Our Background

For 25 years, I have vacationed with my family in the Lowcountry. From my first visit to Hilton Head/Bluffton....it was love at first sight! With its Live Oaks draped in Spanish moss, to the serene marshes  that wind throughout the lowcountry-- to the mystic Atlantic Ocean and the pink sunsets that spread across the sky.....I was truly inspired and drawn to its breathtaking beauty.  My husband and I always dreamed of living here someday. Then on an ocean cruise on the Calibogue Sound underneath a beautiful pink sky we made a decision to just do it! Two years ago we moved here with our three daughters, two son-in-laws and nine grandchildren......oh the charm of the South!

The Lowcountry of coastal South Carolina  has a unique lifestyle.....its own cuisine and culture. Its a simpler way of life with focus on beachcombing, picnics, sitting in rocking chairs on wide porches,  farmers markets, and exploring nature and wildlife.....simple pleasures!  I love all the little shops and restaurants......locally owned. It was embracing this entrepreneurial spirit that inspired me to soapmaking.

While I have always loved soap.... the scents, the colors, and the creamy textures -- I never dreamed about making  these soapy creations myself!   Then, inspired by the lowcountry lifestyle and its natural beauty, I purchased a soapmaking kit at a local craft store. I made the soap with my daughters and was instantly hooked.  For 15 months, my daughter Amanda and I passionatley made soap, soap, and more soap! We created different recipes for soap and tested on ourselves, family, friends and everybody Loved it!  Hence, we starting our own company and named it Low Country Soap Company. Each bar has our name on it and of course the Live Oak Tree which inspired us in the first place!

The quality and safety of our products are very important to us. Not only do we use natural soap bases that are free of sulphates; Sodium Laureth Sulfate (SLES) and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate(SLS), but also we use essential oils and fragrance oils that are phthalates free. In addition, our soap has creamy moisturizing properties such as goats milk, shea butter, and olive oil.  Each bar is handmade, inspected, and wrapped in our Lowcountry Kitchen with lots of love from us to you!
